Afternoon Showers

So it goes. Pitter patter so soft, Drumming. Numbing. A steady beat against My window. I look upon the glass, An army before me Stands in disarray; Hundreds. Thousands. Being themselves, Simply existing On my window. They come and go, Like restless tides They cannot stay. Soldiers fall in droves To the edge, Of my window. Of my eye. To someplace I cannot see, Never to be found. So they go. I sit and watch them, And I begin to think, About each droplet. About their fate. As one falls, two more form, Then more, And more, Forevermore. So I smile to the glass, At the little droplets, Knowing they will be there; Always drops on my window, At the edge of my eye, Where I can see them.

Are you ready yet? Oh precious one of mine, Whose buds be set Free in sunshine, I watch with suspense A film, years in making, A decade of forming sense, With little for taking, Are we reaching a climax, My sweet, precious lilacs? You've seen so much; The years turn and turn But firmly you clutch, So bright did the rose burn When the flames grew high, So cold was the peony, How I remember its cry, Yet by grace of a deity You live on evermore, Deep within my core. As the story does go, Powerless I am to rush What soon be so, But still do your lush Petals entice a thought, Of blissful harmony I've indeed long sought; Though it may bring agony I shall wait for the climax, My sweet, precious lilacs.

A sword stuck in stone Buries with it blood, The thick streams unshown, Such a flowing flood. Deeper does it go, Crimson tears breathing, Life by death and woe Beneath stone sheathing. The gift of killing; In demise of others It shall keep filling, The Wine of Winners. Empires rise and fall, And so does the sword, Answering the call Of the next great horde... Then back to the stone, Where the blood is sewn.

I'm a sculptor, like you. Don't look at me with those eyes, I know I'm not crazy; those eyes Feast upon life's bounty like mine, Those hands move not on their own, But at the whim of a host, Callused hands conversing with Mind, soul, and heart as an image, A bud of thought, blooms like the Fires of an explosion, and suddenly Becomes one with the real world. You see? We really are alike, However... I'm a sculptor, but not you, Your eyes cannot see my bud, Your callused hands are not mine, Too foreign to be my own; We are each masters of our work, Every masterpiece a glimpse into Our slice of a greater project that Will never be completed, We are both craftsmen at heart, But your image will always be yours, And mine shall be mine. At long last I see it! Liberation granted upon The golden rays of Heaven's untamed bounty, Open now are my eyes, Fixated ever to the light That shines itself on a Landscape buried in the Cold, harsh blanket of white, At long last I see it. Grant me the honor, The pleasure of satiating My yearning, my craving, For that welcoming warmth, As it touches my hand a Hundred glorious memories Are awoken, revived while Relieved of the grey skies That whose eyes glare Oppression evermore. I can't remember the last time Winter felt this cold on my skin, The piles of fluffy white keep Piling higher against the walls, The wind howls a song so fierce And chilling it shakes my core, Infesting my arms with goosebumps While I wash in pale white. I would start a fire in the hearth To try and warm myself again, But I ran out of firewood and the Snow is too high to trek for more, So I suppose I'm encased in this Icy home, my cage so so cold, Not a candle even remaining for Me to create a spark of warmth. The frigid air penetrates my mind while I seek sanctuary deep within, It seems that not even my memories Can provide the heat I desire, I look into the darkest crevices of My brain to revel in the old flames, But no matter how hard I try all I feel is a freezing emptiness. My Bio

Not a whole lot to say: I'm just a guy that loves to write!

I've been bringing an assortment of literature, from poetry to short stories, (and a very small visual gallery) to Deviantart for a couple years now; it seems that I've gotten attached to poetry quite a bit, but I'm actively trying to expand my talent to larger pieces, hopefully to the point where I can start work on a novel or series of novellas! I don't think I have a specific genre I'm "specialized" in yet, but I do have a pretty great interest in fantasy, as well as both science and historical fiction. In terms of poetry, I try to keep as wide a variety as possible in order to develop my writing skills better, but I'll let you be the judge of that

Unfortunately though, as I'm still in college, my activity hasn't been anywhere near as consistent as I'd like it to be. You'll notice that I've tried to apologize many times in the past for such, but at this point I've somewhat accepted that there are a lot of things that need attention in my life right now... so it's just something that I'll have to deal with until I can find a long-term solution to the problem. Lately, I haven't been posting much of anything, but I'll let you know that I've spent time "behind the scenes" (I guess?) developing better creative writing techniques and what not, so I can post more higher quality work! Yes, activity still won't be consistent for the time-being, but hopefully there'll be a lot more pieces worthy of critique!

That being said, feel free to post any kind of criticism on my work, or send a note if you'd like to talk sometime; the more feedback, the merrier! As I said, I'm not always on here, but I'll try to get back to you ASAP.

I Don't know what to name this.

Hey guys. I've never really gotten into the groove of posting my journals publicly on my page, but I feel like this is a good time to post SOMETHING. I know I've done a crap ton of status updates in the past, but I guess due to a host of circumstances I'm more of a shadow on this site than what I used to be. Call this whatever you want, I don't have a name for it. But to be honest, it seems like a self-reflection of sorts. I really don't know where to start with this, but I feel the need to apologize once more. I've done so many status updates apologizing and promising that I'll keep being productive, and while I feel bad for saying sorry so many times, I can't say I didn't mean it. Now here I am again, apologizing, to those who I don't even know are listening anymore. With college, work, and trying to hold together a social life, I've lost touch with my watchers as well as my own work.
